About Albany Physiotherapy Clinic

Albany Physiotherapy is a trusted private practice that has been providing high quality physiotherapy services to people of all ages in Albany and the Great Southern region for over 20 years.

Led by our team of compassionate, experienced therapists, we offer customised treatment plans to help patients recover from injuries, manage chronic pain and conditions, regain mobility, and improve overall wellness.

Our goal is always to listen closely to our patients, understand their needs, and provide quality, personalised care in an accommodating environment.

Meet the team

Hira Tariq Albany Physiotherapist
Hira Tariq
Physiotherapist
D.PT (Physio)

Completing her Doctor of Physiotherapy (D.PT) degree in 2015 from the University of Lahore, Hira joins the team with valuable experience working in both the UAE and Australia. She gained experience working in hospitals and special needs centres across the UAE, before relocating to the north coast of Australia in 2023. During her time in the UAE, her professional interests included sports rehabilitation, pulmonary physiotherapy, manual therapy, trigger point release, shockwave therapy and dry needling. She has also gained experience in treating a varied caseload of musculoskeletal patients in a private practice setting in Karratha, prior to relocating to Albany in 2024.

Hira has a special interest in neck and lower back rehabilitation, and strives to stay committed to ongoing professional development. Hira is passionate about providing education to the wider Albany community, and is committed to delivering exceptional service to every patient she treats.

Outside of work, Hira enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys camping, adventuring, and exploring new places and activities in the beautiful natural environment of the Great Southern.

Bronwyn Smith
Titled APA Musculoskeletal, Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist
B.Sc. (Physio), MManip, MClinPhys (Sports), APAM, MACP

Graduating from Curtin University in 2005, Bronwyn is a highly experienced post graduate trained physiotherapist, receiving titling from the Australian Physiotherapy Association in both Musculoskeletal (2009) and Sports Physiotherapy (2014), recognising her post graduate training and expertise in the field.

Prior to moving to the Great Southern region, Bronwyn practiced throughout Perth in musculoskeletal and sports-based clinics, as well as working as a lecturer in undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy.

Bronwyn has been involved as a physiotherapist in multiple sports from elite to amateur level including AFL, rugby union, netball, swimming and basketball.

Whilst having a special interest in the shoulder and ankle/foot, Bronwyn enjoys treating all musculoskeletal conditions and working with an active population. In addition to this, she mentors other physiotherapists and allied health professionals.

Outside of the work sphere, Bronwyn enjoys soaking up the beautiful scenery that is at our doorstep, as well as the many trails and hikes that the Great Southern has to offer. You will also find her walking her rottweiler Ned or exploring the region with her partner and friends.

Emma Kelly from Albany Physio
Emma Kelly
Physiotherapist
B.Sc. (Physio), APAM

Emma joined Albany Physiotherapy after graduating from Curtin University in 2013. Her clinical interests include orthopaedics, functional rehabilitation and paediatrics. She also provides home visit physiotherapy services to clients who are unable to attend the clinic in person, and has previously lectured students at South Regional TAFE. Emma has also worked as a community support worker at an Autism Association and as an education assistant in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

When she is not working, Emma enjoys hiking and exploring the Great Southern region with her family. She is the mother to two young girls, and also helps to run a local playgroup in her spare time.

Practice Owner & Physiotherapist
B.HlthSc. (Physio), APAM

Anni graduated from Saimaa University of Applied Sciences (Finland) in 2009. Prior to moving to Australia in 2012, she worked in hospital settings providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation in orthopaedics, traumatology and neurology. She joined Albany Physiotherapy in 2018 after working in private practice in Queensland. Diving further into the private practice sphere, she became the proud owner of Albany Physiotherapy in 2022.

Anni is keen to assess and treat all musculoskeletal conditions and is currently also studying towards APA (Australian Physiotherapy Association) Titling in Women’s Health.

Outside of work, Anni enjoys all aspects of country life on her rural property, such as gardening and bushwalks. She is the mother of two children and whenever she has spare time, finds herself playing tennis, exploring the region’s mountains, or riding her bike.

Tracy Williams
Medical Receptionist

Tracy joined Albany Physiotherapy as a medical receptionist in 2024. She comes with a background in customer service in the agricultural industry, and is excited to bring her administrative and customer-focussed skills to the allied health space.

Outside of work, Tracy enjoys spending time with her family. She is the mother to two teenage girls, and also volunteers as a coach for basketball and netball in her spare time.

Janine Woods
Medical Receptionist

Janine joined the Albany Physiotherapy team in 2024. She comes with extensive administrative experience in the medical field, having previously worked in both a GP clinic, as well as a dental setting for many years.

Janine lives in the Albany region with her husband, and enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys walking, hiking and paddleboarding.
