As we get older, the challenges with mobility, transportation, and the energy it takes to get to locations can become a bit much for some.
Understanding this, we’ve extended our physiotherapy services to include specialised home visits which are available on request and by referral.
Home visits allow our physiotherapists to meet the patient in their own home, and assess their capacity within an environment where firstly the patient is most comfortable, and secondly where they spend most of their time. It also allows our team to recognise any challenges the patient may be facing within that environment, and provide targeted solutions to combat these. Our physiotherapists are able to assess our patients’ mobility and balance, and provide home exercise programs with a focus on functional capacity and improved balance. They can also offer falls prevention strategies, and deliver hands on treatment where necessary.
Home visits are also available for one-off mobility aid recommendations where required, including recommendations for walking sticks and 4 wheel walkers (4WW). We work alongside local mobility aid providers Calibre Care and Albany Mobility Solutions.
Currently, we have existing agreements for home visit physiotherapy via home care packages (HCPs) with Clarence Estate Home Care, Silver Chain Group, Baptistcare, Albany Community Care, Carealot, Catholic Homes and Country Mile Home Care. Home visits can also be funded privately upon request.
